Chapter 22: A Distant Cousin

Sorry for the delay in posting.  I’ve done something weird to my right shoulder on Tuesday.  I think it’s because I got a tetanus shot but my mum thinks it’s from work.  It’s not paralyzed, but it’s in a lot of pain when I move it.  Also I updated the Mods list and divided up the Rules page into expansions.

China vacation

Vacation 8 – Day 1:

I am so confused about which Adventures have been completed and which tombs Tristan needs to explore. So I made an Excel chart (which is what I usually do to sort out things). It has lots of colours! And thick border lines! *nerds out*

Wait, how is Pascal from France on vacation in China?

Wait, how is Pascal from France on vacation in China?

Now that Tristan has the Axe of Pangu, he needs to explore the Hot Springs and find some mysterious trinket for Bao.

Virgil lost his magical key so he needs to bake another one.  And I’m sure it’s delicious!  He also beats up some of the locals in the name of Martial Arts.

“Cannonball!”

“Cannonball!”

Keri gets a new quest which involves deciphering a curious note.  Apparently Dong Huo stole a valueless worthless priceless heirloom from Ziyi Yuan and it’s up to Keri to retrieve it.

um, how to describe Serefina, Niobe and Cascadia’s vacation: Fetch, return, rinse, repeat.

“AHHHH!”

“AHHHH!”

Day 2:

Tristan scratched off 3 more tombs off his “to-mb-do list”, and Lee Kim-Yao was so happy about the broken boulder that he gave Tristan §4,000.  Lee also finishes that Meditation Statue and sends Tristan on a Pilgrim’s Walk about China.

“Oh hell.”

“Oh hell.”

Serefina’s decided it’s time to take up Martial Arts.  Strong, brave, able to break pieces of wood, this could potentially be very useful in a future career… but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Serefina learning Martial Arts just like her father.

Serefina learning Martial Arts just like her father.

Virgil lost ANOTHER car.  Seriously, this is like the third one!  TEARS!  He also sparred with many, many Sim-Fu masters.  That’s like all he really did this entire trip.

Glittery Virgil, plus Dan Dan Pei, the oldest teen in China.

Glittery Virgil, plus Dan Dan Pei, the oldest teen in China.

Keri’s note was written in the ancient code of Dong Huo, so she gets in his treasure trove and finds the missing artifact.

Cascadia found a relic with a piece missing, but collects it from Rui Xi Xio.  I also noted that there are 3 different Sims all named “Lu” living in China.  I’m sure the random name generator could come up with enough names that it doesn’t have to start repeating already.

Cascadia’s winning the “Make the Scariest Face” contest.

Cascadia’s winning the “Make the Scariest Face” contest.

Day 3:

Tristan uses Thunderbolt!

Tristan uses Thunderbolt!

Apparently Tristan is referred to in the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force the Dragon Cave.  For some reason James Vaughan tried to fix the Dragon Cave sometime during the last century but then he didn’t, so Tristan has to brew a memory potion.  This helps jog the memory of Liang Wang-Yat Sen , who remembers that Sin Pah kept a journal on all of this, and now Tristan has to go find a nectar-merchant in France to get the Dragon Cave keystone.  *rereads this last paragraph*  … This is very convoluted.

The game spawns a random Sim called “Ze Lei Shin Yi-Wolfe“.  I kid you not.

They kindof look related, right?

They kindof look related, right?

I think Story Progression did it just to perplex me.  Not only does Mr. Ze have 5 names (how ridiculous!*), but apparently he’s a long-lost relative of the Wolfe family.

*Says the guy with 6 names.

I think he kindof looks like Tristan, but maybe not.  I had to do some imaginating, but here’s what I came up with:

Alexander actually had a never-before-mentioned younger brother named Herb, who stayed in Sim-ope with their parents Marjorie and Klaus.  Continuing in their free-spirited lifestyle, he eventually made his way to Shang Simla where he met his wife, Meiling Yi.  Together they formed the Yi-Wolfe household, and raised a single son, who they named Ze Lei Shin.  This makes Ze an uncle first-cousin once removed to Serefina Niobe and Prometheus, a first cousin to Virgil and Tristan, and also explains why he’s got the same hair-colour as Tristan.

(Let’s just ignore the fact that Tristan got his blonde locks from his mother’s side of the family instead of the Wolfe side, okay?)

Flying backwards summersault kick.

So Virgil got his Sparring Tournament Rank #4.  Just one more to go!  Now let us bravely flee this land of tranquil forests and return to the realm of sand and sun.

PS: Hopefully it’s not me.

Chapter 16: Mummy-Murderer

Hey all!  If you look up above I’ve included a Family Tree section (with appropriate links) and a Points section (with charts and everything).  I’ll probably update each one only once a generation, which reminds me that I do need to update the Mods and Rules sections as well.  Hmm..

Anywho, the Wolfe family return to Egypt!

Wow, how awesome is this photo!?

Vacation 5 – Day 1:

Virgil’s still upset about his mother dying.

Virgil’s still upset about his mother dying.

Virgil gets an easy quest searching for the lost treasure of King Hoojib in the Market tomb, and finds some great nectar along the way.

Cascadia gets the weird quests about photographing random inanimate tomb objects.  She also gets the one about bribing someone but the Mummitomium never spawns.

Cascadia wearing a fancy headdress.

Cascadia wearing a fancy headdress.

Last but not least, Keri goes to the Copper Quarry to collect copper.

Day 2:

The Al Simhara Historical Society wants Keri to find the Chilldean Insanity Relic.  Afterwards, she goes and explores the James Vaughn Command Center.

It looks like this.

It looks like this.

After wandering around in the Great Sphinx tomb for a while, Tristan discovers the Soulpeace Chambers.

Tristan takes a dip in the tomb.

Tristan takes a dip in the tomb.

Virgil visits the Pyramid of the Burning Sands, but I don’t quite remember why.  Cascadia was running around looking for Egyptian Scarabs.

Day 3:

Distracted by treasure, the young adventurer fails to see the approaching mummy.

Distracted by treasure, the young adventurer fails to see the approaching mummy.

On his travels, Virgil met a Mummy!  His name was King Raymundo Rodiekhkare, but after the fight he turned into a lump of ash.  Does this mean he killed him?  Is Virgil a Sim-murderer?  Anyways, he finished the Tomb of the Rock.

"Attack hug!"

“Attack hug!”

Keri was asked to infiltrate the Legendary Crminal Headquarters and drop off the bribe in a chest.  Just as an afterthought, they wanted her to hack the MorcuCorp Mainframe as well for whatever reason.

“How YOU doin’, lamp?”

“How YOU doin’, lamp?”

Tristan ran through the tombs that Virgil and Keri had already completed, so now he’s fully explored 6 tombs in Egypt.  That’s one third of his lifetime wish accomplished!

Chilling out in an ancient dining room.

Cascadia found Sultan Sam the Magical Gnome of Egypt.  I love these guys, I hope I find the other 2!  And that’s it for this vacation!

Chapter 6: First Blood

Sadly, we lost our first member of the Legacy Lot this week.  It was bound to happen sooner or later, but I assumed it would never happen!

Week 6 – Day 36:

Alexander has 7 days left, the twins have 1 day left.

The babies are still learning to walk, talk, do other things. Alexander bought the Dirt Defiant and Steel Bladder rewards.  He also bought out the Solitary Novel bookstore.

Can you spot the baby? Alexander, great father.

 Day 37:

It’s the twins’ Birthday.  Party time!  They both grew up happy and got the Adventurous and Clumsy traits respectively.

Tristan is Adventurous. Virgil is Clumsy.

Thanx to all that training they did as Toddlers, Virgil has Level 4 of Logic and Tristan has Level 1 of Writing.  Tristan started writing his first novel “Cheetor Zoom Zoom Zoom”.

Day 38:

Roxanne asked for a Raise and Promotion and actually got them.  This never works for me!  Now she’s a Music Talent Scout.

Can I get more money now please?

Can I get more money now please?

Also it’s Naomi’s 100th birthday.  Can you imagine?

Alex got the Personable Skill challenge.  He also got an interesting proposition: World Domination.  He must go to the Desert Arms Military Base and hold the world ransom by taking control of their satellites, space stations, and Air-Force.

Who’s in the yard? Does she know about the plutonium?

Who’s in the yard? Does she know about the plutonium?

Day 39:

Oh, sad news: Naomi died at the ripe age of 101.  Ironically, she was at the Graveyard to pick up her friend’s ashes because he died there the last time.

Naomi Nita, a great roommate.

Naomi Nita, a great roommate.

Alex is so distraught he can’t even hold the world hostage.  (I just realized I could have thrown a funeral.. oh well, next time.)

Day 40:

Ezekiel Reid and Yolanda Shaw.

Ezekiel Reid and Yolanda Shaw.

Most of the legacy lot is upset that Naomi passed away.  Sadly, Ezekiel’s long-time fiancée Yolanda also passed away, so he’s really depressed.  (They could never get married because she’s a Rich Sim.)

Poor Ezekiel; always a groomsman, never a groom.

Poor Ezekiel; always a groomsman, never a groom.

Day 41:

Alexander finally got around to Executing his Evil Plan.  The world trembled, one of the nation’s capitals was destroyed by atomic death rays, and the world held it’s collective breath.  But he’s a nice guy, so returned control for a paltry sum of §4,000.  Not bad for a random challenge!

After the successful raid, man and wife became intimate and explored the world of sensual delights.   Now Alexander and Roxanne are expecting another little miracle in the future.

Preggers?

Preggers?

Virgil is on the Honour Roll but Tristan isn’t.

Side-bar: Don’t save the game when children are on the bus heading to school.  It resets them, their homework blanks, they’re late for school, and no bus home.  Terrible!

Oh, and then this happens!

Oh, and then this happens!

Day 42:

Tristan’s first novel was a flop.  Hmm, so if it takes a Baby 3 days to age up and a Toddler 7 days to age up, add an extra 5 days, that means Tristan is only 15.  I think anybody who publishes at 15 should be rewarded no matter how terrible it is!  But he’s not giving up, and started his next book “Only Pirates Wear Bandanas”.

Virgil out fishing in the cemetery. Tristan writing his latest novel.

Alexander got the Super Friendly skill perk.  He’s getting really sociable!

Community death count: 25 or so
